Every day is an opportunity for a new adventure
Play. Explore. Discover.
I grew up on a berry farm. We raised Blueberries, strawberries, cherries, raspberries, apples, pears, blackberries, gooseberries and I am sure a few more that I have left out. In addition to berries, my family always had a huge garden full of veggies and flowers. A lot of my youth was spent at our U-pick farm and at our local farmers market selling our fruits and veggies. Farming is hard work. Those plants, trees, and bushes all demand lots of time and effort from us to survive. Working on the farm teaches lifelong lessons. Too little water the plants would not survive. With too much water the plants would drown. Between the excess rail and sometimes a drought things were always happening. It's hard to control the sun. Too much sun would cause the plants to just burn up, too little sun and they did not grow correctly. Just like life, it was a balancing act. Every so often things would be absolutely perfect. My parents were Pros. Whatever life thru at them, they handled it perfectly. They set a perfect example for myself and my siblings. Time marches on things change. We are all older now and after 40 plus years the berry farm has ran its course. It was tough and somedays I hated it, But I will always cherish those childhood memories.

My mom is a sewer and a very creative person. She was always sewing, making some of my dads and my brothers shirts, skirts for me. , Quilting and just general sewing is a passion of hers. She has blessed me with her sewing skills. My dad was a teacher @ life skills. He passed away several years ago, but to this very day I can still hear his voice. Whenever I was about to make an odd/bad decision he would always say " straighten up and fly right". That was generally enough to keep me headed in the right direction.
I have 2 adult children now, one son and one daughter. They have blessed me with 6 amazing grand kids. I hope I have been at least been half the parent to my kiddos as my parents were to me :)
My art journey began when I was little. I have always been a doodler. Drawing, coloring painting, making clay crafts was pretty much a daily occurrence in the winter and sometimes in the summer when I was working the checkout area on the farm. I Took all the art classes in school that I could get into. In addition to arts I like to sew and quilt.
The items made from the fabric are unique as no two will ever be exactly alike. My handpainted items are done without the use of stencils as no two will be identical. .You will feel the joy in knowing that the item you have purchased is different from everybody else's. It is as individual and as special as you are.
I look forward to sharing the joy of art and creativity with you. Thank you for being a part of my handmade journey.
